Weekend Review
Hello all. It's 10:30 (not terribly late) and I can't sleep. I went to bed early with every intention of falling sound asleep. But, I can feel a headache coming on and my brain just wont stop. So, here I am... probably not smart with a headache, but maybe it will clear all the thoughts racing around in my mind.
We loaded up Friday when Tancy got in from work. It took us a little longer than expected to get on the road. I forgot my ovulation tests (yes, started taking those Friday), so we had to turn around and come back home for them. A couple of stops and we were on our way! We got to the campground around 5:00. Sandy had just gotten there. We set up camp and got everything settled in.
We went up to the top of the hill to take pictures of the sunset and the moon rising. The sun was beautiful, I will have to post some pictures when I get a chance. The sky was orange and purple and every color in between. It was gorgeous. Then the moon started rising over the hills, wow! It was big and orange and bright. The man in the moon was smiling. We took lots of pictures of that as well.
Then to the creek to see if Angie and Crystal & Heather and Sonia had made it. They had! We let them finish setting up camp and headed back to where we were set up and waited for them to come hang out. It was a fun night, beer, laughter and a great campfire under the stars. What more could you want.
To be honest, I really didn't want to go camping this weekend. However, after the best nights sleep I have had in a long time, Saturday morning proved to me that it was just what I needed. Saturday was spent hanging out, playing in the river, watching the puppies play, trying to stay cool and visiting with everyone.
With us at the river and the other girls at the creek, we didn't spend as much time together as we would have all at the same camp. But, it was a good weekend with them all. We seemed to reconnect with Heather and Sonia and just enjoy each others company.
Saturday night was another fabulous camp fire, a sky full of twinkling stars and all natures creatures singing us to sleep. But not before some drinks, laughs, guitar playing & singing. Another good night for decompressing, another good nights sleep (though Friday night was certainly the best).
We got up this morning, had a bit to eat and started breaking up camp. We rolled out of the campground around 12:00, stopped by Mandy's quickly and then on to the house.
Heather and Sonia came by. Then Mandy to update her resume. We ordered dinner from Taco & Tequila, a local mexican restaraunt that we really dig. Everyone ate till they were full and Heather and Sonia had to be on their way. Mandy worked on her resume and bugged out to.
I tried to sleep, but that's not working out... so there's your weekend run down.
Gonna start another blog for some rambling, you've been warned!
Love to all!
